The 3rd annual NANOS meeting

The Society hosted the 3rd Annual NANOS Conference in Christchurch on the 17th – 18th May. It was another invigorating gathering of clinicians, researchers and patient advocates, where we came together to discuss advancements in research and care for patients. August 2023
Queenstown

On the 26th August, 2023, NANOS held their inaugural annual conference at the Crowne Plaza in Queenstown. Although only one day in length, the conference program included sessions ranging from care for glioma patients from both the clinicians’ and caregivers’ perspectives, as well as scientific research undertaken by researchers around Aotearoa.

The main purposes of the meeting, aside from showcasing the ongoing effort in Aotearoa to combat brain tumours, was to facilitate communication and collaborations between clinicians, researchers, and patient support and advocate groups.

February 2023
Auckland

On Saturday 11th February 2023, around sixty of New Zealand’s top brain tumour specialists gathered at the Auckland Airport Novotel for the first ever New Zealand Neuro-Oncology Conference.

The event may well be remembered as the dawn of a new era in the field of neuro-oncology in New Zealand. Never before had so many of the country’s pre-eminent brain tumour clinicians, researchers, allied health professionals and patient advocates gathered together in one room to rally behind a common cause.
